I wonder who theses guys are fishing for with their descriptions...Extraordinary world wide stamp collection $149.00..and they show a few stockbooks with a mish mosh of stamps...they have a right to charge what they want...but the descriptions should be more accurate !

When I see words like "extraordinary" or "Amazing" I move right along. There is only two outcomes to that type of adjectives. Either it is overly priced or I can't afford it. It's usually the first.

writting advertisements is a art form ,no matter how bad the mixture of stamps it can be written to wet the appitite of the reader. ---------using words like "old glassines"" unsearched" " estate lot""last minute arrival"and "outside of my collecting area" are words that can get active bidding for a junk lot .

I think it damages in the long run,
In my collecting area I avoid the sellers I have come to know
that always use "scarce" and "Rare" in all their adverts,
I pass them over without a look.

Hi

A few years ago a friend who was selling on ebay told me to stay away from Roecy. The reason was that he saw one of his lots in a Roecy listing. He thinks that the picture was lifted from his site. Whether it is true or not I have stayed away from this dealer like the plague. My friend put in a complaint to ebay and my friend just said that it was resolved.

I don't mind the use of superlative adjectives in a description. What is important to me is to be able to identify the stamps looking at the scans. I only bought 2 collections on the net and I was not deceived. What put me off is when I see sets that are always missing the high values. I don't shop for stamps or collection by now as I have no budjet for it or spend my money elsewhere but occasionnaly I watch ebay listings under collection. It looks now that it's only a small group of big dealers that auction collections in albums. Have the feeling that good collection are never auction anymore, they are sold Buy it Now for a fixed price. Have a beautiful Christmas everyone. Daniel

Look through all his listings. He always uses various and sundry superlatives; it's his "thing". Some of them are actually comical.
