This item isn't a stamp, but it is an interesting example of printing and history, some things we are all fascinated by I think. And it gave me an idea for a topical thread.
This is a 1914 certificate admitting Mrs. Helen May McCune Rutherford into the Daughters of the American Revolution.

A search here found the DAR came up only twice, once earlier this year regarding a lovely cover posted by Stampman2002...

Not wanting to hijack his thread, I thought it might be interesting to have members post any postal items they have related to the organization.
Any takers?

If you don't know it already, the Molly Foster Berry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is based in Fort Scott, Kansas.

I have 12 postcards that were addressed to Mrs. Nathan R. Patterson (Florence Rawson).
I believe Florence was actively involved with both the DAR ( Daughters of American Revolution ) and DAC ( Daughters of American Colonists)serving as the Chairperson / President for awhile.

Also,I have covers sent to here father E.C Rawson

Here are some examples that I scanned a few years ago, if better images are needed I can supply them.

Paul

Hello, I am seeking a picture of a stamp probably issued 1st half 20th century commemorating the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR. I recall having it and another commemorating the UDC but am unable to find any reference online to either. Working from my memory is no longer reliable so it may not have ever existed... Any help?

Perhaps your thinking of the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) and the UCV (United Confederate Veterans)
