Does anyone have a current catalogue value on a Great Britain 1955 Queen Elizabeth II Windsor Castle 1£ stamp SC#312.
My 2003 Scott's has it listed at $32.50

thanks in advance.

Currently Stanley Gibbons will sell you the set of four for £225 unmounted mint (Waterlow).

For the £1 I'd expect to buy it for 40 - 60 pounds mint (not S.G.prices) and around 8 pounds used.

And the watermarks are extremely tricky; this is why pieces with selvage sell at a premium.

Furthermore, on the 1955 issue, 2012 Gibbons actually lists two different stamps:

#539 - Waterlow printing - £130 mint.
#539a - De La Rue printing - £350 mint.

The Gibbons Catalog has a lengthy mind-numbing explanation of the differences.

The De La Rue printing is from 1958.

By "1955" issue, I meant the first issue of 2/6 to £1, as opposed to the two later issues SG #595-98 (1959-68) and SG #759-62 (1967-68).
