Computer Vended Stamps (2012)

Erthur...the board rules are that you have to have 50 posts before you can communicate via email. Since I have to follow board rules like everyone else, I have to apologize but I cannot email you just yet which means I can't give you these stamps.




These were mentioned by studystamps in the original post.

However, it might not matter what denomination is printed on the stamp (unless you're intent on having a full set).

Not sure if that will apply in Canada because unlike the U.S. which permitted denominations of 0.01-$99.99 to be printed on the stamps, it seems the Canadian versions are more limited.

Studystamps and Canadian Collector

Many thanks for providing the information about the kiosks. I am normally immune from Canada Post philatelic creations but this is quite different.

I made the trip to the Toronto Dominion kiosk yesterday and was greeted by a friendly lady who provided assistance on how to operate the machine. So far the machine has gone through 2 rolls of 5000 stamps and is now on its 3rd roll since December 12.


There appears to have been little philatelic interest at the TD kiosk. The attendant was not aware that these stamps were of much interest to collectors.

I was told that there were lineups at the machine before Christmas because of the seasonal demand for postal service but things are quiet now. There is more traffic at the kiosk during the lunch hour.

In addition to purchasing the basic denominations I also bought the highest denomination which was $3.65.

Lordenning or any other. Canadian Philatelist is sending us the 3 regular stamps of this issue. Can anyone get me the 2 other extra stamps ? I'll pay you.
These have to be bought before Monday rate increase. I am in Montreal and don't have access to those machines. I need the help of one of you.

Sorry I am busy this weekend and won't be able to make it to downtown Toronto. I live in Mississauga and it can take easily 45mins or more to get down there (not going to be possible).

I do not collect these stamps, but find the whole thing very interesting. Kind of reminds me of the early eighties when collectors ( myself included ) went crazy over the new plate number coils, trying to find every plate number!
One question, lorddenning bought two high values, $2.10 and $3.65. What are these amounts used for?
