Good News! Picked up a copy of Michel Deutschland-Spezial 2009, Band 1, and a copy of Unitrade 2005 at a show yesterday in Melbourne, FL, for $25 total. Great for me since I focus on the older classics and am not concerned about current values.

Now I could use Band 2 of the Michel.

Thanks to the Forum; I never heard of Unitrade until a few months ago.

Congrats! I enjoy having mine immensely. The only regret I have is not purchasing them sooner!

Glad to hear this Donald

I have older versions of the Michel catalogues and I buy a new current Unitrade every year.

For Canada, I use this catalogue only. I have for about 20+ years now - closer to 25. Anyway, I started buying them shortly after they were first published.

dlambert1, too bad you didn't get the Unitrade 2006 edition or later
since the 2006 was a complete overhaul from previous years due to the new editor Robin Harris.

If you like the 2005 edition then you would love any of the subsequent years.

IMO it's one of the best (if not best) country specialized catalogues world wide.

Of course Michel Specialized is in a category of it's own.
I only have the Michel Deutschland-Katalog 2005/2006 (and some previous editions) but I have looked through the Specialized and have to say that those catalogues are a must have for any collector.

Thanks, Lithograving. A good tip re the 2006 Unitrade and I will keep it in mind.

I already had the Michel for Privatposten, so am familiar with the layout and concept plus speak/read a little German. I got about a dozen Privatpost stamps about a year ago from a dealer who did not know what they were, but could not catalog them until I picked up the Michel.

Thanks for your support.
