I had thought it was a good time we on SCF (and any newcomers to cancel collecting (marcophilately)) had a place to share their scans / photos / info of this interesting topic and, of course, the beautiful stamps that, along with the postmarks, make up Canadian history and heritage.
The list can, upon request, be shared / emailed to collectors by me in a .dbf (dBase), .wdb (Works) or .doc (Word) format.
My posting the database and list on SCF here is a great job to have. I apologize for my some times lateness in adding new cancels to the growing list as I am still working on sub-typing the styles of cancels as best as I can.
I have decided to use the format of text and/or graphic shown on each line of the actual cancel and the font size used on that line.
I will try to get some measurements and styles posted in the first or second post on this thread soon.
I believe you can now Google the name of the town and the word postmark or cancel and a cancel image will come up from this thread. Results vary.
