Quote: BELOEIL, QC, J3G5P0 (IGA GROCERY STORE, Y. L'HEUREUX) Further information: I wanted to see what the 'Y." meant and so . . . Canada Post info: LES MARCHÉS PÉPIN INC 825 BOUL YVON L'HEUREUX BELOEIL QC J3G 5P0 (shows a Post Office only postal code, ending in '0'.) Google Maps info: Marchés Pepin (IGA) (Marchés loosely translates to Market, Serge Pepin is the owner.) 825 Boulevard Yvon l'Heureux Nord, Beloeil, QC J3G 2C9 (shows actual street address postal code for the large store.) |

Thanks for the clarifications Puzzler.
My post is now modified to read "IGA on Yvon L'Heureux St".
It appears that the postal outlet is located within the IGA, but having a different postal code from the market itself. Could this be a common procedure? I'll advise if I find similar situations. |

Quote: It appears that the postal outlet is located within the IGA, but having a different postal code from the market itself. Could this be a common procedure? Actually, this is a common occurrance. The Post Office has a postal code ending in zero, as per all Post Offices in Canada, but the drug store, grocery store, and whatever other establishment where the post office resides within does have it's own postal code. So, I imagine that some people, setting up the letters and numbers (and possibly graphics) on a POCON cancelling device, do use the handiest postal code they can access, at times. Even on Canada Post, tthere are some Post Offices listed with a non-zero-ending postal code. It's alright with me of course! Makes for varieties to collect! |

Stamps showing two Ice Vessels ships, the 14c St. Roch and 14c Labrador, as well as the 14c Grey Nuns stamp, with a double strike of a POCON postmark from 690694 NANISIVIK, NWT . . The year date on the cancel does not match the issue dates of the stamps used on the envelope.
