Hi I'm just wondering if there are different sizes of this issue. I noticed that when looking at a few I had they were both of noticeable different sizes.
the measurements I had were the following

top stamp 19.5 wide by 21.6
bottom stamp 19.1 wide by 22.1

thanks for your time.

The cause Difference between the Rotary Plate (19.5mm) & Flat Plate (a9.1mm) Printing Plates. Another site that will be helpful will be http://www.1847usa.com/1922identifier.htm

Search the SCF for discussion threads about the difference in methodology -- it is discussed extensively.

Good Luck.
Hal

I'm familiar with the rotary and flat plate printings and I should also mention that they are both perf 11. But I don't really see that it can be anything other than rotary but what I'm not seeing is the obvious. What is it if it isn't 554 or 595..that's what mystifies me. Shouldn't the measurements be right by now? I don't see any measurement past 19mm except for 579 & 595.
