Won a bid and paid for it immediately on the same day 29th Jan.Buyer had stated item will be shipped out in a day but latest in 2 or 3 days.Noticing the shipped icon was not highlighted sent a mail to the seller on the 4th Feb asking if my item has been shipped. There was no reply from the seller and sent him another mail on the 7th Feb stating that he has not replied to my earlier mail and would want to know if my item has been shipped out.On the same day the seller replied saying he was sick and was unable to ship the item and said he was doing it the next day. Till now I have not been informed if the item has been shipped as the shipped icon is still not highlighted. What would be my options or what should I do.It has been 4 days since the sellers reply. The seller has a 99.9% with a 3363 red star. Thanks for any advise.

He could very well be sick!
Give him a bit of time. You can always file a buyer protection case if things don't work out.
What's his feedback rating? |

Just to mention that payment was made through paypal and money was deducted from my account. Normally all sellers that I have bought from would put in a positive feed back after receiving payment but nothing was received from this seller. |

Sellers are all over the place in their policy on feedback. I have had about a thousand ebay and bidstart transactions and I am pleased when they give feedback after I have paid, or some when they ship, or some wait until I give feedback after item is received, It really is ok anyway they do it. If someone has that many feedbacks I would for sure give them a few more days. |

What I would consider on a feed back after receiving payment more so than a rating boost is that the seller confirms he has received payment and the buyer knows that his payment and purchase is being monitored. This gives the buyer some sort of assurance and satisfaction knowing that his transaction with the seller is moving. |

First, you used Paypal, so you are protected. If nothing arrives after a few weeks, you can open a ticket and petition to get your money back. It's fast and easy. Second, buyers often wait to give feedback after you have received the lot and left positive feedback for them. Other sellers wait until they have a lot of people to leave feedback for and do it all at once; sometimes waiting weeks before leaving feedback. There are many reasons this may not have arrived, but after two weeks I start to get antsy. I'd recommend giving him until the end of the week before sending another email. Brian |

My friend who does sell in ebay items other than stamps follows a very nice way of handling his customers. He deals in shirts and t shirts. Though sometimes his orders are quite a bit but he makes it a priority to send positive feed backs on receiving payments and followed by a mail to the buyer thanking him for the purchase and time he would ship the item. When he ships though it is marked as shipped he also follows up with a mail to the buyer to inform of the item shipped out and expected arrival item although most of his shipment goes on standard shipping. He makes customer satisfaction a priority and he says emails do not cost you anything but probably a minute of your time while it may mean alot to a buyer and that takes the seller a long way. |

I would be patient. A few day wait or even a week delay is not too bad. People have real life issues come up that trump ebay shipping. If it's been a few weeks maybe be a bit more aggressive on reasons why the delay. As for feedback, as a seller I only give feedback once my buyer has done so. Given the propensity of buyer scams these days and the fact sellers cannot leave negatives, the only recourse is to give "positive" feedback with a very negative comment warning other sellers to be wary. Some people simply do not leave feedback at all. So be it. |

Hi, Been there, done that. I urge you to be patient - which of course is not easy when you are waiting for something. I'm also a seller and buyer on ebay, with over 1000 - 100% positive feedbacks. In all I've had a good 1500 transactions over the last 12 years, and only had one bad one (early on, lost $24). Your sellers feedback rating and number of transactions tells it all. The guy is definitely reputable and dealing with the flu. You know, most stamp sellers do get their stuff in the mail right away, and being first class we get them in 2 or 3 days tops. So when anything is later than that, it does get our concern. |

Just as a devil's advocate note (I do agree with mobilman in this case re: the seller in question): Be careful when selling. A person's feedback can be quite deceiving. I have recently dealt with someone with 7700 positives because he is a reputable seller. However he typically buys off of "newer" sellers and frauds them. Only by checking his "feedback left for others" did this become apparent as he has swindled many many buyers. He has been reported to ebay numerous times but due to ebay "not caring" about customer service on any level, he has been allowed to continue (for now). ebay is a dangerous place, particularly for sellers now-a-days and as a buyer who doesn't ask a lot of questions regarding condition, etc But in your case I would give the seller some more time. |
