Hal, could one of the other obsessions be the Washington/Franklins? Guess based on your avatar.
Can you guess one of my obsessions? |

Yup.... any time I think I might be overstepping the sanity/obsession line a little along comes someone else that has pole vaulted right on over that line years ago and can't even see the line no matter how hard they look over their shoulder!
I admire him greatly!

Hi! When I got back into collecting US stamps after 40 years off, there was a stamp that I vividly recalled from earlier times. It is the Scott 1083 from 1956 - Nassau Hall commemorative. I guess its the gold color that makes it special to me, but other than that is is nothing really special. But you know, most all of the stamps hold my attention, particularly the pre 1960s. |

Now I know what to do! About! Quote: of current, worthless definitives, Christmas and those out of control single letter rate issue that the PO prints and uses to the max. All because I just can not burn them or give them to a charity so some poor person ends up with them in mass. At a guess we have over 100kgs of the stuff.
Has anybody got any ideas on what to do with all this? Other than wall paper. As from agustanz Quote: maybe we should be burried with a few favorite stamps! I can be cremated with them. My ashes mixed with stamp ashes. Now the worthless stamps have become an obsession. Wow! What a thread! |

Well as my avatar probably suggests my interest is the 1964 New York World's Fair issue. I have exhibited that stamp and FDCs. I have been fortunate to find photo essays and just recently I found a previously unknown albino which will be listed as Scott 1244a in the 2014 Scott Catalog. It has been almost 20 years but a lot of fun. |

The US 32c Flag over Porch. Not that I love the design, just love all the varieties (including ones not listed by Scott) & plate numbers. |
