My first 35 days experience trading in ebay.
Purchases
$200(incl shipping) for 9 items.Received 7 items as described. 1 fully refunded as did not receive item for thirty days.Seller refunded full but received refund short of $0.46. Have sent a mail to paypal asking why this deduction since as a buyer should not be subjected for any fee on refund.1 other item not shipped yet as seller claims he was sick and yet waiting for shipment.Paid 14 days ago.
Selling
Total sales $18.46 incl shipping and ebay fee not deducted yet.All items shipped
First payment expected to be credited on the 20th Feb 2nd payment on 28th Feb and two more on 5th of Mac.
How did I do guys. On my 100th day experience probably write a book and sell it on ebay, who knows it may end up a best seller.(joke)
Just wanted to share my experience.Thanks.

What am I missing ..... as a seller why are you shipping won items before you receive full payment from the buyer. As Scrooge said in the Christmas Carol "I ship when I have the cash in hand". Did I miss a previous link where you explained this.

Serious collector, it is ebay ruling for new sellers that when you ship out the money is only available to you after 21 days or maybe even more. Till then the money is held by ebay though fully paid by the buyer. ebay says this is for a certain period of time till the new seller has established as genuine. I am not sure for how long is this.

Is it also if you receive a positive feedback from the buyer the funds are released early?

Well Selva you are doing better than me! I am still trying to figure out how to list on bidStart. Have 1 listing up and 50 to list today hopefully the process will sink in.

I think the system works something like this:

Payment released 3? Days after received if the shipment is trackable

Payment released 7? Days after the estimated delivery date if marked as shipped

Payment released 21? Days after the estimated delivery date if not marked as shipped and not trackable.

Thanks guys for the ebay selling rules for a new seller. I made my first sale in 2005, for the life of me I don't recall having to wait for the dollars. Anyway thanks for the update. Good luck Selva on you adventures with ebay. I have more than 2600+ transaction on my ledger and I can say that it has been problem free both as a buyer and a seller.

Kgv collector, hoping to try my hands on bidstart too. Those that dont sell in ebay may have a chance in bidstart. But think not too soon. Need to get my pending payments from ebay first and learn all the pros and cons in ebay. When I move in to bidstart you would by then be a success there,so could turn to you for advice..

back in 2005, ebay did not own PayPal, and the rules were very different.
