Hi Bujutsu

I purchased the set of International encyclopedia of Stamps

It is actually a six volume set consisting of 98 parts.
the person selling it let me have it for $30.00 and considering that when new, each part was 0.65 cents in 1970, and the binders cost about $2.00 each, I think with inflation $30 is a good price.

Fantastic Horamkhet.

I am really glad you got the set and at such a good price too.

You really can't go wrong by investing in good reference books.

Hi Bujutsu
As you said, reference is the key. Now everytime I find a stamp with an inscription I can not identify, I will start with the encyclopedia first.
The set is amazing, and there are heaps of coloured pictures. The values of collectors items of course are way out of date.

Hi Bujutsu (and everybody else)
I totally agree with you about a good library.
Was at an auction this morning (totally last minute) and came away with my own copy of this beautiful Duck Stamp book...

...for $1! Well, less actually because it also included a 1988 Scott Specialized Canadian Catalogue, and Stanley Gibbons colour guide and a book on drying flowers in the microwave (the real reason I bid )
Sometimes it pays to get out of bed.
