Ok I just started browsing my dads stamp collections, with crossroad in my head sell or not sell. And I found three different stamps that look very old (all stamps I have are old newest is 1980). But this three look older than 100 years, so I decided to search for answers and I found some but they left me in riddles, all I got from the internet for 2 of them is that they are probably dating 1917 and mesopotamia(i tried ebay - stamps on ebay have all http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...400339166562 . But those I have does are (how you call em minted-never used I guess).

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know anything anything about these issues, but hang on, and I'm sure someone will respond to your questions shortly.

Bottom 2 - probably Revenues (Timbre)

Look for Turkey revenue or fiscal stamps. I can't help you any more than that.

Hi,
I have used ebay searches to identify (and get a value somewhat) unknown stamps. It will take a few tries, but there should be some similar or like those you have.

May I suggest........Hold off on selling the collection. Spend some time with it, and you may very well decide to carry it on.

What you have is common, revenue stamps. They all should go for a total of $10 if they are grouped together.

That isn't arabic its Ottoman Turkish. It just says Sheet of 10.

Edit: Turkey is one of my main area of collections.

Katchem so you say that treasure is not treasure. So with stamp or without stamp they are just 10 dollars, even if they are older than 100 years(all three images are croped from 10 or 20 sheets), and that's the reason no one sell them on ebay or other auction houses. Damn no easy money for me :) . Do you have those in your catalog?

Grunge, there are plenty of stamps which are older than 100 years which still do not go for a lot of money. Age does not equal value I'm sorry to say. I'll have to check if they are in my collection or not. My Turkey collection reaches around 500 or so stamps so I'm not knowledgeable about every stamp in my collection till I take a look.

Katchem, I can send you third one the one from 1890. I will send it for 2 reasons to see if it will arrive, and to find out the packaging I need to use if I decide to sell those stamps(i mean any stamp in my collection). Hour ago I found out my dad envelopes .
alzir, chile, uganda, pakistan, jordan, argentina ....(this envelopes contain from 20 to 200 stamps never used. To be fair I can send to 5 people more just if they are not from Canada to see if they actually arrive at their destination. For other just name the country and I send 3 4 marks.(they will be probably worthless).
