Hello Rod and Kim, I can not find the original thread which we had talked about the prefix RA of China Post's registered label used for the destination outside Mainland China,(RR*********CN and RA*********CN and other prefix RC, etc.) so I post this thread. Two hours ago I gone to post office to send a registered mail to USA, I found the prefix of the label has changed from RR to RA, on Feb.18 I gone to the same post office there still used the RR label. I have asked the office staff why changed the prefix, her told me this post office got the prefix RA label from the storeroom, do not know why changed that, but these are same usage as the RR label, for registered mail/parcel's destination outside Mainland China including Taiwan Province and HongKong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region. No more information I can get for now, will update if I have. See you. ZhangCheng The scan for the receipt

Yeah, I've been told more than once that I'm full of something, but the word "life" is usually not the word used.

WOW, you are here at this time again. Kim, I apologize if the "life" is not right word, I "told" my translation software to translate "³äÂú»îÁ¦,¾«Á¦³äÅæ", it gave me this "full of life". I meant "full of vigour" and "full of energy". Yes, when my friends visited my small room 10 years ago, they told me there were full of beer and cigarette but not full of money. A few years ago I quited the beer( at most of the time ), my small room now is full of boxes of covers and stamps, even full of money(coins) in my one of trousers pockets. |

No need to apologize. Your translation and meaning are correct. I was just joking. |

Sorry Kim, I will change my translation software and quit smoke. --------------------------------------------------------------- Rhino Dino, Welcome and many thanks showing this neat cover. The metered postage is TWD73, about USD2.45, the number 100036-009 maybe a postal code, no idea for other numbers. The delivery time of sending from Taiwan Province to Canada is similar if sending from Hebei Province(where I live) to Canada. Still no idea for the prefix RR,RA,RB,etc. If only a RA, I should understand that means Registered Airmail, but... These prefixes maybe only just the PREFIXES, no other means, if post offices run out of the number from RR000000001CN to RR999999999CN, just change the prefix to begin a new series... Best regards, ZhangCheng |

Rhino Dino, thanks for the clear scans, the 100036 looks more like postal code to me. |

I checked from website for this post office in Taiwan Province, it shows this post office's Office Number is 000136-1, and the postal code for that area is 10555, so I was wrong that I guessed it is a postal code.
Now it maybe a office number as some software systems do not allow the first digit be zero(0), so they put the "1" ahead? And I guess the 009 of 100036-009 means the ninth postage meter? |

You are welcome Rod. If the RR label will not be used anymore in my city, I will miss them. |
