Hi,

I have couple stamps like the left one (red with light rose shade details). The right one is completly red (stamp and all details). Is it a different scott number?

Thank you!

I'm thinking you have a fake. The right one is not only red but has many differences in the border and ornaments.

The stamp is actually bicolor: dark red, and rose.

Scott does not list any shades. I would note that the paper for your two stamps appear to be different. That would suggest that one of your stamps is a color changeling.

I don't think the ornaments are actually different. It appears to me that the 2 colors are slightly misregistered -- giving the appearance that the ornaments are of slightly different design. So both stamps appear genuine to me.

Hi,

I don't know why but this stamp is really unicolor. There is no rose and ornaments(probably shift) are red. Look very different than others. Funny :-)

Thank you 1847Bill and Khj!

According to my old Michel there are two varieties both printed typography in two colours.

Michel 241a karmin/rot = carmine/red

Michel 241b karmin/mattrosa = carmine/dull rose

I would say that the portrait, country name and value are in carmine
for both versions and either red or dull rose for the ornaments.

I only have this one copy which I think has the ornaments in dull
rose.

Either way their value for used is minimum.

Hi Lithograving,

It is probably that (Michel 241a karmin/rot = carmine/red) because there is no rose or pale color on this stamp.

Thank you!
