Does anyone here or is there some place where people have exchanged and discussed blocked bidder lists?

I'm not sure, but I'm on a seller's blocked list. He didn't like that I asked for my money back on an item that wasn't as described. His loss, I guess ...

Definitely a dangerous two way street and hence I think blindly exchanging would be a bad idea. It would be worthwhile to discuss with others some very problematic buyers as I know some sellers have had nightmares I hope I never experience.

I've blocked some that bought or irritated me but not many maybe 5-6. I don't think discussing or listing would be appropriate. Not all who end up getting blocked do something. It could have been something as simple as a bad day. If you have a problem buyer or seller and don't get resolution with them directly then go through Paypal, ebay, or whatever venue you are working from.

In one of my 1880s stamp magazines, a publisher had the temerity to print 4 pages of "approval crooks," i.e., persons who didn't pay for approvals requested, complete with name, address, and city. Wonder what the repercussions were, in those wild and woolly days?

I agree, lists of blocked bidders shouldn't be passed around -- it would be like putting out a list of blind dates with bad breath.

Philb and Rileysan,

At least you both know why the seller has blocked you. I am on an ebay seller's blocked bidding list and I have never had any dealings with him/her. I'm also blocked from contacting him/her to find out why I am on the blocked list. I have well over 250 feedbacks and 100% are positive.

Were he/she to blindly share the blocked list with other ebay sellers, I'd be screwed.

Steve

tomiseksj Have you ever left neg or neutral feedback to a seller in the past?.
As a seller its easy to look up any buyers or bidders feedback and see if they left neg feedback to a seller, or of a seller left you positive feedback but with a neg comment.
As a seller I often do this with bidders and if I have a gut feeling will block them.

I've done the same. I find the feedback left for others is quite telling

I have left neutral feedback when negative feedback was due.

I don't know why the seller would have had the occasion to look that up because I was blocked before ever having placed a bid on one of his/her items.

But then, if sellers got together and traded blocked lists...

Someone else pointed out that people may give false block lists of their best customers so other sellers block them. I guess overall not a great idea it's just frustrating how many bad buyers are out there on top of the bad sellers. Scary place to deal stamps sometimes.

I have a fairly long list of buyers I have blocked. And with I believe only one exception they are all people who never paid for the items they bought. The one exception was a customer from hell whom I decided I never, ever wanted to hear from again. His anti-American rants didn't help.

Emails can so easily cause offence even when your intentions are pure because the reader cannot guage the tone of your voice. At least twice I mustered enough determination to ask the seller the reason for the block, and on both occasions they could not remember what it was and I was immediately reinstated.

I am amazed some say to email the blocker to discuss or call ebay as if you are blocked chances are you are not able to email them either and ebay supports 100% anyone blocking anyone for any reason.

I was blocked from a seller I frequented and always gave good feedback, I didn't know what the problem was, so tried to email them and the email was blocked too. So I called ebay and they said I had no recourse it was a sellers block and decision, ok whatever guess money is no object for some and mine for him can't buy anything. Moved on to other pastures.

He did say he had Butt ugly bankers boxes of material for auction so I said in my good feedback, you were right it was Butt Ugly, go figure why he would be offended using his own words. Never again all buys will smell sweet as a rose and feedback to reflect it no matter how ugly if I want to retain the seller for future buys.
