Characters designed by Dutch artist Dick Bruna on Dutch and Japanese stamps. His most famous creation is Nijntje, the white rabbit with an X for a mouth, who is everywhere in the Netherlands. Nijntje was very popular in Japan and was the source of inspiration for the Japanese character Hello Kitty, who also has no mouth.

Random question: Does anybody know of any stamps depicting movies by Don Bluth? The majority of his films were animated in Ireland and they are some of my favourites, however, the only Irish animation commemoratives commemorate much more modern animation that I do not like. Don Bluth movies were animated at Bluth Sullivan Studio in Cork from 1979 to about 1994 (if I recall, their last movie was The Pebble and The Penguin). Examples of Don Bluth movies made in Ireland are All Dogs Go to Heaven, The Secret of NIMH and The Land Before Time. There were also some arcade games animated by the studio, such as Dragon's Lair.
