Finland Moomin Cartoons May 6, 2009 Tove Marika Jansson (1914 – 2001) was a Finnish novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author. She is best known as the author of the Moomin books. The designer of the booklet, Päivi Vainionpää, chose cartoon sketches for the stamps which feature the most familiar and best-loved characters: Moominmamma, Moominpappa, Moomintroll, Little My, the Snork Maiden and Snufkin.  |
