I thought the scan you showed was the item from ebay. Both have clipped perfs.

Is your a scan or photo, photo's are useless for stamps.

In my opinion both are worthless,

Okka

Sorry yes mine is a photograph and yes it,s not great quality. Not much I can do about that do not have scan facility, I beleive this particular stamp has roullete type perfs but I do agree it looks like one side has been trimmed.
The colour of mine is much lighter and not as bold, and also the number 2's in the corners look slightly different. Was just wondering if there is a difinitive way to identify if it is genuine or fake.

Thanks for your time Okka.

KATHLAV-----they were poorly perforated using the serpentine roulette method ,but most are found being cut apart with scissors .Let me get examples from my collection .

Here are copies from my collection .
To answer some of your questions the originals are perforated 13 .There are engraver's "secret marks" they are coloured dots on the originals. There is one of these dots in the middle of the head of the P of POST; one in the top hollow of the S, and another in the bottom hollow of the S of that word; one in the center of the bottom half of the A of AMT.There is two in the S of STADT,the same as in the S of POST ,and one in the A of STADT,the same as in the A of AMT.
There are four different types of forgeries that are known .one forgery is perf. 13 X12 1/2 ,the second is perf. 12 1/2 the third and fourth are perforated 15 1/2 with other details .
