Wow, some of those counterfeit stamps are expertly done. I was only 50% correct - that feels better than saying I was 50% wrong Chimo Bujutsu |

50% as well. Wish it showed the correct answers and why (or does it?).
Very interesting article! |

If you want to know what the correct answers are just hover your mouse over the images. Some text will show up which either says "Authentique" for authentic or "Contrefaçon" for counterfeit. Then you can ace the test =) |

I got 75%. Purely by making decisions based on colour, typeface appearance, and colour, particularly on the stamp with the traffic lights. I still got the last one wrong.

I scored 75% -- I don't collect Canada stamps or live in Canada. I'd love to know where I was wrong.

And they lay off people at sorting facilities to hire 80 inspectors. If they upped their % of actual canceled stamps that can't be reused they could absorb the never ending counterfeit problems. I can almost guarantee a large amount of this is by offshore almost cartel like orginizations but being a printer myself years ago a used $2500 dollar garage opperated press could make them . |

Does anyone have any information on these counterfeit stamps? I mean what are the one that have been identified and how to detect them? All I found is an old article on Adminware ( http://www.adminware.ca/headlines/c...erfeits.htm) that dates from 2006. I think there has been some other since (like the lighthouse I think). I have a bunch to check and would like to know what to look for. Thanks. |
