Cool! I was given this and a few other things while being asked to sell a friends coin collection, so thought I'd ask for some help.
Thanks!

I also have a stamp color key thing and some stock books with perforation guides. Think I might have to give them back though, because I just don't have the time for another hobby.

Not sure what it would sell for in today's market. I too also have one of those.

Here's a period newspaper article (1958) offering what may be the same (or a similar) booklet from the Philatelic Institute of Cambridge, Mass.:

In trying to identify "The Philatelic Institute" (an organization I never heard of before) a Google search brings up the fact that it was a division of the infamous H.E. Harris & Co. stamp dealer. If that's accurate, I'm not sure how "The Philatelic Institute" could be referred to as a non-profit organization, though.

Here's one on ebay for $5. It dates from 1954. The date on the cover of the booklet is a part of the stamp design being shown. Nice booklet!

I have noticed a few on ebay from time to time with no bids. I will say they were not nearly as old as the one pictured.
