Does anyone know what was the purpose of this DCS Service label.
It appears that it was a post card sent from the Dominican Republic
to Austria and cancelled by German Post at a letter processing centre.
And the fee was 80pf.

The Dominican Republic has it's own postal service so why send it
via this private mail?

My guess is that is a German meter mark and the card was mailed inside Germany - the green item being a Cinderella.

Yes BC, but.....

The card I believe was originally mailed in the DR.

The label cannot be considered a cinderella since it was used
to move the mail.

According to lordenning from a previous thread.

Quote:
A Cinderella exhibit is composed of items unrelated to the movement of the mail through either a nationally or locally recognized postal system.

I think the meter mark moved the mail, it just happened to be placed over the label. But we need to find more about DCS - I found nothing.

Could be paquebot?
Could be local post?
Could be private shipping label?

Is DCS a private delivery service ? Appears as if it was reposted after being air-freighted.
