I have to say that the current digital catalogs (Scott and Stanley Gibbons) are quite the disappointment. Rather than being the same tired old PDFs, they need to be DATABASES. I should be able to go into the Scott Catalog on my iPad and have it show me all US stamps issued in 2003 by the United States of America. I do that search, I get a list of Scott catalog numbers. Clicking on a catalog number gives me the details on the stamp.

Browsing stamps like you browse iTunes music would be insanely help also:

Country->Year->Stamp Type (Definitive, Commemorative, Air Mail, etc)->Catalog number

What is sad is that Scott probably has a DataBase for publishing their catalogs.

I wonder if a DataBase would fit on your iPad. I also wonder if there is any DataBase software for iPad and iPhone. Adobe files are pretty compact.

There are number of databases for iPad and Android. 2009 PDFs take up almost half a gig of space. I would think the database would be about the same.
