Please look at the cancel postmark on the back of the cover also
it took six days from Winnipeg to Montreal.

adanak44...back in 1957 stamps were deliverd by horse and wagon, that why it took 6 days...

Without a street address, the nixie clerk had to do some research, and that delayed things. Also, July 19 was a Friday, so the cover probably didn't get handled until Monday. The cancel on the back is simply a transfer from the cover immediately below it in the cancelling hopper. The "Received" cancel on the front is for the actual destination, not the Montreal post office.

Thank you for all the inputs! From the back of the cover it shows PO at Montreal dated
25 as well. I don't think the cancel machine stack up the letters they just let them run??? (I could be wrong.) also the back cancel postmark almost as clear as the front and through the light I could see the orientation exactly the same position of the front
postmark.

Based on my experiences with today's mail, seemed like this traveled pretty darn fast :)
