These stamps are listed in Scotts as APR 1...i happen to have a very rare inverted set...and another set with a darker black overprint...it is my understanding that the Staffa PO only issues these stamps on the first of April...what fools those mortals be!

Sadly I do not own one of these rarities.
But I did once venture to the Island in search of some other Philatelic goodies....and found that it was uninhabited.
I was all alone, save for the Puffins, and I had wads of Staffa £2 notes in my pocket ready for my purchases.
It was a sad day.
I will never go there again, a complete waste of time.

I had a set of these when I was younger but my mom discarded them at the same time she disposed of my Baseball cards.

I have an overprint of that issue from the year it was occupied by Redonda.

Not much change there then !
An uninhabited rock occupying an uninhabited rocky Isle...don't think the Scottish Army need to be alarmed just yet !

Maybe the overprint was genuine ?
