Hello, does anyone know of reputable stamp dealers in the DC or Baltimore area? I have a small collection and would like to get an appraisal.

Thanks in advance for any thoughtful, informed replies.

Hello!
Maryland Stamps & Coins of Bethesda, Maryland. You'll find them in the Yellow pages or online too.

I agree with Battlestamps I have had many dealings with Maryland Stamp and Coin located in Bethesda They are located right on Wisconsin Ave not too far from the new Walter Reed. Parking can be a bit tricky on weekends but weekdays are usually fine. I know they do buy collections and they would gladly take a look for you

Any U.S. based stamp dealer who is a member of one or more of these professional organizations will be reputable: APS, ASDA, IPDA, NSDA
All 4 have on-line lists of members, sometimes searchable or organized by geographical location. Expect to pay for an appraisal. If you are looking to sell to the dealer then you want an offer, not an appraisal. Offers are free.
If you arrange for an appraisal and it turns into an offer, be careful and seek another opinion. While not always a danger signal it can be.

Okay, thanks for taking the time to help out. Bethesda ho! I'm going to post another query, this time about dealer purchase pricing, once I've looked through the forum archives.
