I'm so glad this topic was brought back to life. I love to fish, but never thought about it as a stamp collecting area. I do not even have a topical collection, but will be working on one now. Thanks and nice stamps throughout the thread.

A little scruffy, but, I guess this still counts.

Very nice Bujutsu. Do you know what else would have been on the card where the cancel is missing? A label? More stamps?

Sirruspoe, a stamp had fallen off of the card at some point in time. It would have been an 'up-rated' postal card.

Three more stamps:

Eritrea 1933: Shark fishing
Iceland 1954: Trawler
Guernsey 1984: (Rod fishing in) Albecq

I guess if that means there is not much in this area?

When I search the Michel online catalogue with the German equivalents of rod fishing and (commercial) fishing I get more than 400 results, among which obviously is some noise, and I certainly miss some like the Guernsey stamp because rod fishing isn't mentioned in the stamp description. All in all it looks like a nice topic, not too many stamps and not too few either.

It is wonderful to see all the fishing stamps people have to share. There are more than I thought might be which indeed makes for an interesting topical theme. I have some new acquisitions to scan so I will be contributing some more as well.

These are Canadian revenue stamps, but, I think they too would qualify <G>.
