I finally did go to one of the local stamp club meetings and joined! Today was a 'phlea market' where members bought and sold stuff, looked through circuit (bourse) books. Most were in the 50+ age range but seemed like fun!

For $15 bucks a year, I get access to the stamp library, all the auctions, talks/shows etc. It is hosted at the Spellman museum and every 6 months or so, the curator there gets something cool out of the vault and talks about it.

Happy stamping I suppose!

Ram.

Good deal. Wish I had some by me but I can't seem to find any. You'd think I could find some in NYC. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Sounds like fun! I am thinking of joining a stamp club...

I think the closest one to me is in Springfield, Massachusetts. The problem is I have to get someone to drive me 1 hour each way and most members are about 70-80 years older than I am...

Very cool - meeting at the Spellman Museum!

I, too, wish there was an active club here. When I searched, I found one listed on Linns. When I Googled the contact person's name, though, an obituary came up. :(
