Hi everyone, having seen references to Delcampe I decided to register which I have done. I see a postal verification link but see that I am supposed to:
Quote:
Your balance must be higher for this operation to be enabled.
Please credit your D* account with at least $ 7.50

which does not impress me too much, or I can join the "Club" and verify for free. I have no intention of selling on Delcampe and should I win any bids it will only be from paypal sellers only. Is it really worth $7.50 or joining this club to bid on stamps on Delcampe?
Let me phrase this a little differently: To bid on and win stamps on Delcampe, do sellers block non-verified bidders?

I never joined the club and have had no problems purchasing at all. A seller really wouldn't block you unless you have had bad feedback possibly or you are from a problematic country that the seller has had previous problems selling to.

I also have bought stuff on Delcampe...no club to join whatsoever.
However make sure the seller accepts Paypal payment or Skrill if you
are registered with them. I did purchase something from a seller in France only to find out he had neither a Paypal or Skrill account, fortunately he let me bow out of the transaction. I only search for items on Delcampe if I can't find it on ebay or Bidstart.

No problems here either although the Cinderella section is so full of Bogus crap, I rarely buy there anymore.

Yakboomer,

I, too, have registered and successfully purchased stamps on Delcampe. I have found Delcampe as easy to use as ebay, and I did not have to set up either a Delacampe cash account or join their Club. Joining the Club may be more beneficial to sellers, but I am just a buyer and I haven't found any reason to need it.

Just a recommendation: I filter my search results. Use the "Preferences" bar on the right side of the search results page to select, "PayPal only" (or whatever you prefer) from the payment method choices. The Preferences bar can also filter search results by date of posting, seller's location, etc.

I used to buy and sell on delcampe until they changed their rates, now I only sell on bidstart, I don't put crazy prices on my stuff typically a fifth of cat price (2002 cat) or lower so I don't make money from it and if I do it goes to buying more stamps anyway, I don't buy there either as the cheaper items are now too expensive I've seen items cat at 25c (2012 cat) being sold for 49c - 99c just crazy.

regards
martyn
