I'm surprised this information is on-line, but it is ... you can look up any US Postal Service employee by name, ZIP Code or Position and find out their salaries thanks to this website:
The original story is rather interesting and salaries are for mostly DC. I looked up our local PO and found out that the person who is covering for our PM is making a little over $11.00/hour and she's been there for four years. Not quite near some of the DC salaries!
The May 13 "Linn's Stamp News" has an article about the number of postal workers.
The article is based on Sam Wood's figures. Sam Wood is the president of the Southwest Florida local of the American Postal Workers Union. According to the union's website local career employee and management staffing levels declined more than 37% over the last 15 years. In the same period headquarters staffing increased by more than 53%.
Question: Why does the USPS need more management personnel for less workers? Did someone get an F in business 101?
I am not sure if it is legal to post a copy of the article. If it is then I will do so.
Almost it depends on what position you are working for? They pay huge to their employees, almost an average of $60,334 a year. Salaries at USPS range from an average of $39,211 to $88,460 a year. U.S. Postal Service employees with the job title Financial Analyst make the most with an average annual salary of $84,316, while employees with the title Custodian make the least with an average annual salary of $37,564. USPS employees use Liteblue Portal which benefits its employees and company.
It is not the pay scale of the line worker that is a issue . The payscale and how big the staff is at the top is the issue . iF you want to spoil your day look up Vice-Presidents at the Post Office . Salaries and the amount of Vice -Presidents is the issue .
