The Lallier album was one of the first postage stamp albums ever made.

Among other gems in that album, I think I noticed a New Brunswick 1/ (no. 3) worth a considerable sum depending on condition. I'm wondering what others would do with this if they owned it. I'd be tempted to try to recover the stamps but have no idea of the value of the album itself.

The dangers of the pre-printed album:

Around 1865 a Madame Bochard exchanged with one Albert Coutures her pair of Mauritius 'Post Office' stamps for his pair of Montevideo 'Suns'. The reason? There were no spaces in her 'Lallier' album for the Mauritius stamps. Oh boy!

Very interesting old album. I do have to wonder how you'd go about getting the stamps off the pages they are "pasted" to... I wonder what sort of adhesive it would be, and whether they would all be orange/yellow toned on the back. The album pages, themselves, didn't look horribly discolored.

A sweatbox might be the way to get the stamps off the pages without damaging the leaves, or fugitive ink colours running. I wonder how much was obtained for this 'Lallier' stamp album at auction?
