I recently found some old stamps among my Grandmother's things. Most seem to be from the 60's or 70's, but since I know nothing about stamps or collecting I am unsure of what to do. I will take them to a dealer in AZ when I return next month to find out what I have, if anything, but any further advice would be appreciated. Here is a picture of what I found. Not a lot here, but some foreign countries represented. I think the 6 Iran stamps are interesting.

From what I can see they are all common pieces. Most Stamps issued after 1930 are minimal value, there are exceptions but not too many compared in numbers to the common stamps. That being said you do have a start to a fun hobby, but the overall value of what is shown is a buck or 2 tops.

I appreciate the input. I will post on here in a couple weeks after I find out what, if anything, I have here.

I'm with stallzer, really nothing to exciting in the whole batch. Most of them probably catalogue at .05¢ a piece, putting the real world value at .01¢ each if you are lucky. There's not much need to worry about getting ripped off, if someone gave you $1 I think you'd be ahead!

Unfortunately, you're going to spend more in gas money to visit the dealer than these stamps are worth. Best to give them to a youngfamily member and encourage them to take up collecting!
