I don't see where this local post (established in 1997) has ever been mentioned in the recent past, so I thought I'd provide the link:
http://www.hawaii-post.com/index.htmlUnlike "local posts" that are mere fantasies, this one actually provides a legitimate package delivery service in Waikiki (and expects to eventually expand to all of Honolulu) and it does issue stamps, covers and special postmarks for their services, on a variety of topical subjects having to do with Hawaii.
Their website suggests they operate legally in the U.S. under the Private Express Statutes noted below, however, their services are limited to packages only; as no regular mail would be legal to deliver outside of the USPS:
Quote:
Hawaii Post operates under the exemption to the U.S. Private Express Statutes that allows urgent mail. The relevant statute is Section 39 CFR 320-6.
Has anyone ever heard of or have examples of stamps issued by this entity?
