Okay, I sincerely apologize if this information is elsewhere in the forum but I have been reading different posts on the subject for HOURS now and my head is spinning and I still have questions!

For those of you where your stamps appear as if they're "peeking through" the top, light-colored page but are actually mounted on a black page - how is that achieved? Do you actually cut out around the stamp in the top page and have them mounted behind on a black page? Do you cut a small square/rectangular piece of black, mount that to the light-colored page and then mount the stamp on that? Or is the black part of something like a Showgard mount? I love the way it looks "framed" and I want that for my pages!

If you're not using Showgard mounts, how do you mount them to the page? Hinges? Something else I don't know about?

Do you have your pages laser-printed or do you just use an inkjet?

Again, I apologize, but I'm going to go shopping for page makin' supplies tomorrow and I don't want to waste money on the wrong stuff. Thank you - you are all FABULOUS people!

Hi lindseyr702,

I use black showgard mounts stuck onto a pre-printed page that was printed using a LaserJet printer.

I use black Scott or Showgard mounts on a custom printed page.

What do you mean by "peeking through?" Can you post an example?

I think I have my answer! Postmaster's pages are a perfect example - the stamps mounted in Showgard mounts look like they're actually mounted behind the white page on black with a square cut out for them to show through!
