As some of you know, I only collect Newfoundland stamps and covers. Over time though, a few strays end up in my albums, and mostly those that "crossover" and have a Canadian stamp with a Newfoundland one; or a Canadian stamp from a Newfoundland RPO or Postal cancel.
I have these 7 covers, and would greatly appreciate any and all information from the Canadian experts out there on the stamps (for my records).
The first one is a really sweaty and traveled cover, and I have included the back as well (because the note is cool and all the RPOs).
Here is what I know about them
1. Posted in 1950, this has airmail and rail cancels (8 in all) with one Newfoundland stamp (#184) from Gander to Moncton to NB...registered too, with 4 unknown to me Canadian stamps. The RPO cancel from Ludlow is N13-Ry18, RF=215*
2. This one was posted in 1966 with RPO type 17c cancel with the Arg & PAB TPO Route B cancel (N4a-Ry6a), RF of 305
3. A Gander cancel on April 27, 1949 with unknown to me Canadian stamp.
4. An RPO cover with 3 Canadian stamps. cancel type 17C, RPO is N5 - Ry8, Rarity factor of 310 (ARG&NSYD TPO Route A). Not sure what "Baccalieu" written in UL refers to? Should I erase it?
5. Another RPO with Canadian stamps from 1950. Cancel type 17C, N-13-Ry18 cancel of "CLAR & Bon Train 11" which Ludlow has as N13 and NSSC as Ry18. RF = 215
6. Another RPO with yet another Canadian stamps, Same RPO details as #5 above.
7. This one has a Newfie #255 with unknown to me Canadian stamp. RPO in 1950 with N13-Ry18, with cancel type 17H, and a RF = 215*
Enjoy, have fun--and help me learn
