Any info about them? It seems that they have been used on a hotel receipt in Ostende (Belgium).

Bilingual:

1. De luxe taks

2. Taxe weelde.

This is an interesting receipt. "Pour la pension" translate to "for the pension", but that would be odd for Mr. Masser to pay the hotel an amount for a pension. Intersting translation open for debate.

pension (pansion) is originally french word which is used for the "bed with meals", or the full service, in the hotel... it doesn't have any connection with the retirement.

halfpension/halfboard means only bed + breakfast.

Belgium has a number of different revenue stamps and applications.

I have a few in my collection as well. Some are quite ornate and other, just plain.

I have scanned a few that I have in my collection that are on document.

Hi Bujutsu! I know that Belgium has a hundreds of different revenues, but I have never seen before the "DE Luxe taks". That term (appears exactly that way on the revenue) can't be find anywhere on the Google... so, from that fact, I concluded that this one could be unusual from the others. I also have a hundreds of Belgian revenues in different albums, but, they all are Google-able in some way.

They are probably some kind of the Luxury Taxes... used in hotels depends on how many stars and the quality of accomodation the customer has acquired... but, that is just my opinion...

It is very nice page... but, is a pity that documents are not uploaded in the higher resolution... it is hard to see details on the stamps.

you can found some informations here:

http://catalogue.klaseboer.com/vol2...belgimis.htm

btw. I have noticed that you are always regarding with "chimo"... are you a native Canadian, or you just appreciate culture of your country?

on the other hand - bujutsu is a martial art (japanese)... or that word also has some meaning in the Inuktitut language, too?

The word "Chimo" can either mean 'friend' or 'are you a friend depending on how it is used. I also study Ojibwe, though not fluent in it.

The Bujutsu part is from my karate because I was once an instructor. So, I incorporate the two.

Just my way I guess

I have been in to the Klaseboer site before. Yes, there are sometimes good images in there.

The word "taks" (Dutch = tax) suggests that the stamp was printed in Flemish, the primary language spoken in Belgium. On the other hand, many Belgian stamps are bi-lingual, French + Flemish, as in the country name, Belgique / Belgie.
