I recently squired a stamp collection that was passed down to me . I have just begun the journey on researching these stamps . There are 4 stamps Wapen SS Maria Theresia Van Oostenruk. The research I did do was that in 1943 there were 30,000 issues sets of 4 as war propoganda . Two concerns I believe the first six sets had serial numbers as these do not unless I read the article wrong so any insight on that would be great . Second is do these have any value at all or just maybe historical value and that about it ? Thank you for your time . I'm sure I'll have tons more questions and picks

You guys crack me up!
THECOLLECTOR,
Am I to understand you have a complete sheetlet of four of this particular design? If so, can you post a pic of the whole sheet so I can give you a better idea of what you have?
Intact sheets are actually pretty valuable. |

I do have a sheet of 4 intact and my concern is there is no serial number in the upper right hand corner . I tried to post the whole sheet but I can't figure that optimizer thing out lol . If you email your contact I would be more than happy to send the pic of the whole sheet |

THECOLLECTOR, I see your sheet on another site. Do you want me to upload it for you?
The sheet is perforate (typical strange alignment of the vertical perforations) and shows no sign of the serial number at the upper right. It has been folded in half, though. |

I was given permission by THECOLLECTOR to download his pic and then upload it here. I'm very interested in what PostmasterGS or others have to say, especially about the absent serial number. |

Legitimate copies of these sheets are commonly found without the serial numbers. I've never found a good explanation for the discrepancy, but if you look at the non-serial sheets, they tend to have perforation defects. I suspect that the copies sold in the normal process were serialized, and the non-serial copies are from printer's waste or something similar. |
