To me it looks like a Red Maltese Cross cancellation which has been cleaned.

In the condition it is in, it would only be of low value,

Yes I agree. A used copy and with some faults too...although it's still nice. It's ma lady !

Both copies look like they have been cut with blunt scissors, most likely Friday offerings at the Post Office !

The 'Used' copy looks like it has a repaired corner and both copies are cut into.

Still nice to see and great to handle....not literally of course !
