Morning Mike, and to the forum, The stamp being off-centre does affect value, but not in a good way! The Stanley Gibbons concise catalogue gives their value then states 'For well-centred, lightly used +125%', so you can assume that for a stamp so badly off-centre the value would not be as much as one that was better positioned. The plate 6 (yours looks like Perf 14) catalogues about £50, so a little less for this one. Sorry! Still a 'keeper' though, until a better one comes along. Hope this helps... DavidR
Mike If you look at the decorative panels running down the sides of the stamp, half-way down (just below the Queen's nose), you will see a '6' on each side. That is the plate number. They can be found on many Victorian stamps. Best regards David
