In many countries, one stamp would be commonly accepted as the most beautiful stamp of that country in terms of its design and artwork.

Some examples include
- UK: 1929 PUC One Pound (Scott 209)
- US: 1898 Trans-Mississippi One Dollar (Scott 292)
- Canada: 1929 'Bluenose' 50c (Scott 158)

Just wondering if there is such a commonly accepted stamp for pre-1949 China.

If there isn't, which one would YOU vote for?

You may find some pushback on the 'commonly-recognized' choices above (though probably not from me...).

For China, it is hard to beat the 1909 Temple of Heaven set of three bicolors. Here is the 7c high-value issue of the set, Sc#133:

If bicolors aren't your thing, then perhaps the 1923 Temple of Heaven.

The first airmails, Jenny over Great Wall, are classics, too.

Now, let's see if any of these are 'commonly-recognized' by our fellow SCF'ers.

If we're including the Treaty Ports (and no reason why we can't) then the Chefoo bicolors are a favorite, too.
