Hi, I was a true stamp nut in the late '50s and early '60s. The problem was I didn't have the money to do what I wanted, and of course other priorities took over and the hobby went to the wayside.
Last year I rediscovered the hobby and jumped in with both feet (after finding I really could afford to enjoy the hobby now). Fortunately, I also discovered this Forum - which has been invaluable to me and my pursuit of the Hobby.
Of course - even with lots of good advice, I made my own decisions and went my own way. But after many months of "immersion", I realize that most of the advice I got early on was really "right on".
What I am trying to say is really directed at any "newbies" out there. Before you jump in and "buy this and buy that" (for whatever reason), I urge you to spend time and energy and a bit of money to learn more about what is out there and what the experienced folks recommend as far as supplies and resources and methods.
Ha, in thinking about it, the above really applies to any hobby or new endeavor....
Of course the main part/purpose of the Hobby - or any hobby - is to ENJOY !!
