Earliest Date Usage- 12/1/1897 (Mine's Earlier by almost a full month!) Here is why I think it's a possible EDU/EKU http://www.1847usa.com/1894identifier.htm

Watermark- double-line

Type/Colors/Varieties- Type IV; pink, bright pink

Straight-edge possible on all four sides; sheets of 400 cut into four panes of 100

Purpose- The two-cent stamp paid the first class letter rate.
