At our local show this last Saturday, I came across this cover because it is a cachet I have not seen before.

It was produced by the city of Kitchener.

What is even better about the cover is that it is dated June 6th, 1939, and this makes it an 'itinerary' cancellation. The royal couple was in Kitchener for all of 10 minutes, from 2:15 PM to 2:25 PM.

This type of cancellation is well sought after and it is a real challenge to get all the towns they visited with an itinerary cancel.

Its a beaut, eh?

Where is your local town Bujutsu? I am jealous and want to come and spread some dead presidents around and vacuum up any newfoundland covers!

Thanks for sharing

Excellent find Bujutsu! A collection of 'itinerary' cancels is challenging and satisfying. Good luck in your endeavor.
