I was wondering if anyone had a really good resource for online reference of Canadian/Newfoundland stamps, where it would have both an image of the stamp AND the corresponding Scott/Unitrade numbering?

I thought that there was something in one of the threads but I couldnt find it.

I've found stamp world which has images, but the numbering is not Scott.

I would find it useful when away from my catalogs in order to identify a stamp...like on auction sites (eg ebay) where alot of the time the item is not referenced correctly.

thanks

Hi Tommy

I don't think you will find an on-line source with both images and Scott numbers. The reason for this is the fact that the Scott numbering system is copyright and anyone wishing to use the numbers for catalogues and so forth must pay a licence fee (the details of which I don't know).

A good, user friendly on-line source of images can be found in the Library and Archives Canada website at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/...11703_e.html

I hope this proves useful to you.

FYI…Amos (Scott) does not charge to use their numbers if you meet some requirements. My experience with them is that they asked for their copyright notice be posted on any pages containing their numbers and that the site contain a link back to Linns. I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently they handled my request to use their numbers and their proactive communications.
My experience reflects a non-profit, non-commercial site (http://dd-designs.co/PNT/PNT_home.htm); it could be that a for-profit site might have stiffer requirements and/or fees.

Tommy;

I just made a post that would probably help you. Even though the Reference Resource is for World Wide there is a good amount of Canada there.

Here's a link to my post https://goscf.com/t/34160
