When did Canada Post start issuing first day covers? I have been thinking about starting to collect them. Do other companies do cachets for Canada like are done in the USA? The odd size was putting me off at first but I see there are binders made to hold the special size and I think Canada's FDCs are quite attractive!

The 1st one officially issued by Canada Post were the Maple in spring, on April 14, 1971
