The black half-cent large Queen Victoria stamp (Canada Scott#21) is described in the Collections Canada Archives as being "based on an engraving by Charles Henry Jeens" and the "portrait is engraved by Alfred Jones".
Glen Hansen's catalogue indicates that the portrait was "produced from a medallion and engraved by Charles H. Jeens".
My question is: who engraved the figure of Queen Victoria that is pictured on the stamp?

Nice stamps cynical, thanks for showing them. On the middle stamp it looks almost as if there is a bump on Vicki's nose. |

I was affraid to actually look at that auction - can not believe the items he has and I only went through a few pages . Big sigh-- I will continue to hunt for treasures not yet found . Almost a shame such a collection has to be split up but I doubt even a good canadian lottery win would cover the whole package. PS- Gilles I got your message - just buying house so will contact you soon -- don't want stuff in transit if moving- Thank you very much though. . |

Wasn't there a group of collectors that bought a very valuable stamp together and they share it with each one having it for one whole month? They drew together a whole set of rules including how one could sell their share, what would happen if anyone of them died, etc. |
