A blue postal card with an identical design was issued in 1888.....my Sakura catalog does not show one in red. It could be there but my Japanese is really not very good.
I have some Japanese post cards from the U.P.U. expo of the early 1900's I would like to show..if I could only figure where I put them for safe keeping !!
