How exactly can I use my credit card to pay for an item on ebay? When I click the "pay now" button, it automatically deducts from my paypal balance, which is fine, but what if I want to use the credit card on file with Paypal, and use it through Paypal? They don't give me the option to change my form of payment when I am paying for something.

Maybe I'm just missing something, I don't know. Anyone know?

When I pay on ebay I get the Paypal page but there is also a check-off box to pay by another method. It could be that your sellers don't accept another method so that box isn't offered. Or perhaps check your ebay profile to see if you have set your preferences to always pay with Paypal.

Maybe I'm missing something. I would think that as long as I'm using Paypal to pay a seller, it shouldn't matter where Paypal takes the funds from, be it my Paypal balance, or a credit/debit card. But I'll check my ebay profile anyway. It might tell me something.

I do believe that each payment method must be "confirmed" in advance.

You must also have a credit card on file with PayPal in order to use it.

For some paypal accounts, the credit card and bank account option are only available if one's paypal account has a zero balance. (Sometimes, some send all of their money in their paypal account to their own other email address to have the account go to zero.) Then, they use the credit card option to pay for an item. (Then, they cancel the sending of the paypal account money to their other email address and it returns back to the paypal account. However, caution should be made in sending money to your own other email address making sure that you don't accept the money so that it can be canceled and returned back to your paypal account.) This has worked for some, but there is no guarantee that it will work for all. Thus, exercise caution here.

When you make an instant payment, PayPal will always use your PayPal balance first. Only after it's empty can you use a bank transfer or a credit card payment.

It's possible to send an eCheck to have the money come out of your bank account rather than your PayPal balance. I've never used it, but I assume it's possible to link this payment to an ebay item number during payment. But you might not be popular with your seller using this because of the delay in processing.

There is a guest account type situation on Paypal. I don't use paypal enough to remember where it is, but I "think" there was a button before you log-in that talks about paying for something without logging in and using a credit card. I do it often versus trying to remember all my passwords. I hope this helps, but since I got paid I may buy something soon and see where it is.
