Hi all,

Here I am again, with a different question.
I have loads of duplicate stamps here, and want to sell them.

I am talking about common stamps.
So at which auction website can I sell them at best?

And how?
Single stamps, or 10 per auction?

I'm very new in the world of selling stamps, so I hope you're willing to help me.
But that is okay.

Thanks, and have a nice day.
Greetings, Rik

PS. Yes I have used the search button

I have no idea what the situation is in the Netherlands, but in Britain every major inhabited area will have a Stamp Club/PHILATELIC Society running a 'packet' for its members. To grossly simplify: you stick your duplicates in a book, price individually, and it is passed round the other members in turn, who buy any they want. The club keeps about 5%-10% for their funds and the seller gets the rest.

What doesn't sell can be put round again at a reduced price, and stuff that won't sell at any price is best given to a charity.

Okay, thank you Bamra1.
In Holland whe have the same system.
But with my social phobia and autism, I am currently unable to join such a club...
I've found my city's club, so it is only the social happening, where I can't join in.

So I thank you for your answer, but I can't do it right now...
Are there maybe some online (computerized) systems??

Greetings, Rik
EDIT: I can't find my cities club back anymore...
I keep searching in my surroundings
EDIT2: Is selling on ebay an option???

Hey,
The "packet" is a great idea. I am in 4 clubs and while we get APS circuit books to pass at one of them, we have never done the packet deal. We do auctions, but that really only works well at the one club where we get 35 t0 50 members that show up each meeting. The other clubs have less than a dozen people attending and that is not enough for an effective auction. I am going to suggest the packet idea and see what happens.

Well, I've read the conditions about that kind of packets, and it looks interesting.
But I have a lot of the same stamps (more than 50 duplicates of 1 stamp).
So is it effective to do that in packets...?
Or is selling them on ebay, as some lots, with other duplicates is more effective??

Is here somebody who has experience with this difficulty (selling on ebay), and is willing to help me?

I hope to get some reactions.
Many thanks,

Rik

"Wouldn't it be nice.........."
..... if there was a program where we could trade in bulk our duplicates with folks from other countries.

In example, I have a fairly large amount of pre 1960 duplicates from my country - the USofA. For USA collectors, they are just not that big of a deal. But to collectors living in other countries, they might be a "major find". And conversely, they could send me their stash of their home country duplicates.

Ha, the idea sounds pretty good, but like "world peace" it is filled with obstacles...............

Rik,

Why don't you begin by posting some of your material for sale or auction on this forum?

There is no listing fee and you have already overcome the social phobia issue by posting here.

Or, along the line of mobilman44's previous post, you can list your singles or "packets" for trade in the forum's "Trade" section.

Steve

EDIT: Selling on ebay, bidstart, delcampe, stamps2go, etc., are other options.

Okay, thank you both for your replies.
I'm now contacting my club via email to join the "stamp exchange".
That is a sending that goes from member to member, like a stamp exchange.

More tips are always welcome.
Greetings, Rik
