(I posted this in the World Modern section, and no one has answered, so I thought perhaps I could reach more collectors here)

Hello all

Recently I was sent some used Finland stamps. I noticed that 2 of them seemed to be a bit "off". They are the 2008 Moth stamps, Scott #1314, and it looks like the tagging/overprinting is inverted. I tried to snap a photo so you can all see what I mean:

I went to the library and looked these stamps up, and I didn't see any info at all regarding any errors, and the overprinting is also not mentioned.

Does anyone into Finland stamps know what's up? Were all of these stamps printed like this?

As with any new error it can take time to get proper recognized as such. It does appear to be inverted, not just offset.

What I need is someone in Finland who has seen the entire mint sheet/booklet, I think.

Any suggestions for my getting more info, folks?

It looks like to me to be a moth-shaped tagged overprint.

A neat addition to collecting the big unscary scary guys.

Actually these are not from sheet or booklet, but from coil (roll) of 100 stamps similar as below:

Nothing about the tagging in Finnish stamp catalogues (not sure if many collectors have even noted it, LOL).

The copies I have seem to have identical (placing/location of) tagging.

A COIL! Thanks SCB. Now that I know that, my hope are dashed... Note that the tagging doesn't match the moth designs at all. So, perhaps, this was an overall tagging and is supposed to be like this, though it looks strange, TOO not-like the printed designs... Hmmmmm... need to know more...

Here are some pics to show that I may not have a real error... first, here are the three stamps in the series:

I used my graphics program to make an image showing just the tagging on one stamp. Then I tried to overlay it onto the original image, and it didn't match up with any of the moths.
